Palma de Mallorca, Spain, has played a large role in Betty's personal as well as artistic life since 1999, when she was awarded a Government Commission by the Ajuntament de Palma de Mallorca for her monumental piece, 'Tiron I'.
In 2003, she bought a house there and opened a studio, then the The City of Palma hosted her thirty five year Retrospective at the Casal Solleric in 2005. In 2014 she received the XAM 2014 Artist of the Year Award.
Palma was also the inspiration for her highly honored photographic series, 'Velas' .
Although Betty has since closed her studio, much of her work is now in both public and private permanent collections throughout Mallorca, Spain.
